The Nail
A lone, proud lodgepole pine clinging to life in a brutal Yellowstone winter. The bright orange cambium, where the outer bark had fallen away, stood out like a beacon in the falling snow. I don’t know how long this old tree has left, but its fighting spirit was certainly worth memorializing.
