Arches are an uncommon sight in slot canyons. This beautiful, delicate sandstone arch was discovered in an ancillary canyon near Antelope, on Navajo tribal land. It’s such a thin and ephemeral structure that I count myself lucky for having been able to see it.
One of my favorite features of the sandstone in slot canyons is the purple hues that come out in the shadowy crags and crevices, blending perfectly into reds and oranges where the light hits.
