Inner torii gate at Meiji Jingu temple in Tokyo Japan

Tokyo, Japan

Inner Torii

This photo was one of my favorites that I captured while in Tokyo. My wife and I got up early and walked to Meiji Jingu from our hotel. The shrine grounds were largely empty, making it excellent for photography. Groundskeepers swept the paths with rustic-looking branch brooms. People quietly paid their respects. This shot of the gate, looking towards a tree-flanked path, captured the feeling of serenity I felt in that place.
