Born Anew
The Old Man of Storr at daybreak.
We were the first ones onsite, and the hike proved to be moderately challenging, made more so in the dark and soggy conditions. All I can say is thank goodness for Wellies and flashlights. Once we reached a suitable viewpoint, the wind strength was tremendous (and freezing), howling around the side of the mountain in 70 mpg gusts! I was terrified that my camera was going to blow away, or at the very least that my shots were going to be shaky. I ended up taking a lot more shots here than anywhere else, in an effort to compensate, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that the vast majority of the shots turned out perfectly sharp. And the sunrise? Absolutely stunning! It was one of those sunrises that was beautiful from the first hint of orange to well past sunrise. It just kept giving, and I kept shooting!
