Edges of a Dream
Me and my brother-in-law woke early in Gardiner, MT, to try and get eyes on the Junction Butte wolf pack feasting on a felled bison bull. The previous days had been overcast from forest fire smoke lingering from far-off areas, but on this morning, the sky was filled with a thick, low bank of fog. On the way to the location in Lamar Valley, I spotted this magnificent lone bull wandering the sage without a care. We stopped in time for a quick shot from the car—as he was too near to get out—and then, after a glance and a snort, we continued on our separate ways.
